Moisture Buffering Effect of Wood Products
This document shows how different wood products can keep the internal climate healthy.

Ext Ins with EPS slips
This document from Finland shows how the wall is allowed breathe when using External Polysterene insulation by putting on 10mm strips of EPS onto the wall to allow air movement between the insulation and the wall.

20 Passive houses in Sweden

Journal of building physics convection in atticspaces
Lightweight insulation in your attic is not as good as heavy insulation, a scientific study.

Lecompte paper_partial fill cavity walling
This Scientific study by LaCompte shows that due to Thermal Looping in a cavity wall, the effect of 70mm of Kingspan is reduced to the insulation level of 35mm of Kingspan. Check the U-value changes on the table at the end of page 2.

Wind Chill
This study shows the effect of wind on the U-value of the insulation in a roof in Austria. The Austrians at least make an attempt to make their roofs wind tight but we leave them completly open here. I presented this document to the Part L review comitee which I am part of and they decided to continue allowing wind to blow through the insulation in our roofs. Maybe they think we don't get any wind in Ireland!

Scientific study of Cavity Walls
This study shows there is limited risk to full fill cavity walling and examines Thermal Looping. Filling the cavity with foam is dangerous though.
