Quinnlite Passive extension

This Quinnlite Passive Extension was built in Dublin to Passive House standard using Externally Insulated Quinnlite blocks and our Passiv Slab foundation system which eliminates the wall/floor cold bridge. The roof was insulated with 300mm of Rockwool insulation and the house was made airtight by externally plastering the Quinnlite blocks.

2 FiWi HRV boxes were installed in preference to a centralised HRV system, which is way more efficient and hygienic. New triple glazed windows were installed in the complete house. The roof of the existing house was insulated with 300mm of Rockwool and the walls were externally insulated. The sewer pipe servicing the 6 neighbouring houses runs under the new extension, this was wrapped in underfloor heating pipe which will be connected to a small heat pump to heat the house in the future. The gas connection has been disconnected from the house as its no longer required.
